These days will be a busy time for the Red Camp. They have highly success with RV770 last summer and grab top performance desktop graphics card that really make Green Camp shocked and panic. Some months latter Nvidia able to reclaim the top crown performance with their unplanned (or backup) cards. In this April Ati will launch several new cards, some real brand new ASIC (not rebranding or cut paste model) and some for the ultra expensive workstation professional card and one will be another attempt to be the performance king.
Fire Pro V7750
Aimed at power-users in the CGI, eingineering and scientific fields, the $900 card has a PCI-Express 2.0 x16 interface, 1GB of memory, 320 stream processors, a 30-bit display pipeline, a Dual Link-enabled DVI port and two DisplayPort outputs.
Don't expect to see this puppy sitting on the shelves at you local PC superstore, though, as it's only available to box builders and channel partners. It costs $900.
AMD says the cards will be turning up in high-end workstations from the likes of HP in the very near future. ยต
Radeon HD4770
ATI's HD 4770 has a maximum board power consumption of 80W and that's by 5 Watts more than the PCI-Express slot can deliver.
The cards current clocks are 750MHz for the core, and 800MHz for GDDR5 memory. As you all know this RV740 card will be ATI's first 40nm desktop product that will hit retail. The clocks aren't final yet so we guess that some things might change.
AMD is still pretty much silent about the rumored HD 4750 that should have a RV740 GPU paired up with GDDR3 memory, and we guess that this one could end up without the PCI-Express power connector, but we couldn't confirm that at this point since the HD 4770 is scheduled to release in the first week of May.
AMD wants this card to compete with Geforce 9800 GT and we guess that AMD is much better in this game, as it plans to sell this card for US $99.
Pricing is usually a live thing that can change up to the last moment and we’ve heard that Radeon HD 4890 might launch at least €10 cheaper than we’ve all expected.
Furthermore, it is expected that GTX 275 product might end up faster than two, but at the same time people who are selling both Nvidia and ATI believe that Nvidia’s GTX 275 will be a PR product and rather hard to come by, and it is quite clear that GTX 275 will be more expensive of two.
Radeon HD 4890 will probably boost ATI’s performance sales, as it will end up better than Radeon HD 4870 products. The plan is to get Nvidia more competitive against GTX 260 parts 55nm with 216 shader parts.
